Love you have to find yourself, within your being, by raising your consciousness to higher levels. And when love comes, there is no question of responsibility. You do things because you enjoy doing them for the person you love. You are not obliging the person, you are not even wanting anything in return, not even gratitude. On the contrary, you are grateful that the person has allowed you to do something for him. It was your joy, sheer joy. Love knows nothing of responsibility. It does many things, it is very creative; it shares all that it has, but it is not a responsibility, remember. Responsibility is an ugly word in comparison to love. Love is natural. Responsibility is created by the cunning priests, politicians who want to dominate you in the name of God, in the name of the nation, in the name of family, in the name of religion &#8212; any fiction will do. But they don&#8217;t talk about love. On the contrary, they are all against love, because love is unable to be controlled by them. A man of love acts out of his own heart, not according to any moral code. A man of love will not join the army because it is his responsibility to fight for his nation. A man of love will say there are no nations, and there is no question of any fight.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong><em>The Five Agreements</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>1. BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD</strong><br />
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.</p>
<p><strong>2. DON’T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY</strong><br />
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.</p>
<p><strong>3. DON’T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS</strong><br />
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.</p>
<p><strong>4. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST</strong><br />
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are tired as opposed to well rested. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.</p>
<p><strong>5. BE SKEPTICAL, BUT LEARN TO LISTEN</strong><br />
Don’t believe yourself or anybody else. Use the power of doubt to question everything you hear: Is it really the truth? Listen to the intent behind the words, and you will understand the real message.</p>
<p>Enjoy these words and live your purpose! For the world is waiting you to do so.</p>

<p>May people today do the same thing when it comes to promoting themselves and their work. They prefer to do it alone. Here’s another line from that song: “Imagination is a form of flagellation.” People are afraid that they’re giving too much away of themselves if they offer their ideas to others to work with.</p>
<p>But if this age of text-driven social upheaval, of flash mobs, quantum computing and brainstorming via random-access memory drives means anything, it means this: we cannot do it alone. It is so much tougher to get our message out in a big way when we approach our marketing by ourselves, without the support of others.</p>
<p>The goal here is to understand collaboration, the entire give-and-take and inspiration that comes from the collaborative process. With true collaboration, people want to see you succeed as much as they do themselves. With collaboration, it becomes clear that the world has no limit on success.</p>
<p>Being truly in service to each other, while rewarding in itself, can also lead to success in business. And if it doesn’t, you’re not there by your lonesome, but in the company of others who are all after the same thing: moving ahead together.</p>
<p>The goal is to build your team to your weaknesses. That is, seek out people who know a lot more than you do. It isn’t an “All About Eve” kind of thing, where the seemingly starry-eyed ingénue is actually plotting to overtake the established leading lady. It’s that no one is indispensable, and that you are only as good as your ability to attract the best people.</p>
<p>When you seek and attract people who will support your mission with grace, with an ease that comes form you, you’ll find that not only will people believe in you, and themselves, that you’ll more likely succeed than fail.</p>
<p>The fastest way to success is to team up with others, not traveling alone. Why is it that most do not do that?  For many people, it’s about ceding control. Most of these people don’t realize that they cannot control others. That life isn’t an us-against-them proposition, but one in which we are all collaborating in one way or another.</p>

<p>Well, sort of. Everyone does talk about it, as if it’s some arcane area of human understanding and strategic communications that only the chosen few (or high school students) can comprehend. And may companies, and individuals, have taken to Tweeting, Facebooking, Google alerting, email blasting, blog-rolling and YouTubing.</p>
<p>But is there a method to this? Or is it a whole lemming thing happening, with everyone jumping over the social media cliff just because they’ve heard that there are riches to be made somewhere out there beyond the horizon.</p>
<p>Well, there has indeed been a big shift in the way we represent ourselves in the world. No doubt about it. The Internet has opened up communication to the personal and the public, and in many areas (such as in the lives of college students) they’ve melded.</p>
<p>In the business world, there’s also been a shift of moving away from the media message from big companies, toward one tailoring a personalized message, in effect niche marketing on a bigger scale. This is being done with more sophistication than in the past. That doesn’t mean we don’t sometimes see through the pitch. We all know how irritating it can be to be sold to, or manipulated into buying something through hypnotic language or other techniques, designed to move you towards action.</p>
<p>Now, I am not saying it is bad to sell anything, or to buy anything. But it’s time to leverage the tools of social media, alongside film and traditional public relations, in a specific way targeted toward today’s market, today’s consumer, today’s digital-savvy techno-literate end user.</p>
<p>At the same time,  many people have not caught on to the way the social media world really works, and need to be brought up to the contemporary age of media in a way that allows them to feel cosseted by the old while they’re being wooed by the new.</p>
<p>The primary focus of this approach is on relationship-building and connecting.  Of building tribes of like minded people ready to drive a message home with complete authenticity and transparency.</p>
<p>There is nowhere to hide anymore!  Our lives are exposed, and this is a good thing!  We can leverage the exposure that used to take thousands of marketing dollars….  The world is our oyster and just a click away.</p>

For some, such a moment came as early as high school, when we yearned to get into a college that would help launch our career. For others, it was that moment of agonizing decision when choosing a major. And for others still, it was that stepping off the ledge of graduation and into the potential precipice of a lifelong career. What if we made a mistake? We couldn’t turn back? What if we failed? Where would we go?</p>
<p>For the vast majority of people, these moments don’t come just once, but often, at various points as we mature, as we face hardships, successes, roadblocks. We are prone to second-guessing, and given to regretting the road not taken (or the road we took).</p>
<p>At the same time, many of us know that we can offer something to the world – whether knowledge or skills borne of life or work experience – that we can’t quite figure out how to utilize.</p>
<p>That is – how to we take what we know, and put it in the service of others?</p>
<p>And more important, perhaps: how do we do something useful, and can we make a living from it?</p>
<p>I can certainly relate to that kind of questioning. And those questions popped up most when I was working for someone else. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But I usually came to the conclusion that I was spending a lot of time helping someone other than me expand his dream, and implement his ideas &#8212; when I should have been tapping into my own (if I’d known what they were).</p>
<p>It’s when we’re confronted with the limits of ourselves in relation to what others are doing &#8212; that is, what we can offer if we weren’t tied to someone else’s coattails &#8212; that these moments of clarity occur. If we’re in the right frame of mind to realize these moments for what they are – opportunities to tap into a universal energy – then we can move forward.</p>
<p>I feel we are all here to do something big and to serve others. Part of my goal is to help you to recognize your potential for greatness, and embrace it. Living from the inside out is the secret to generating not only a purpose in life – but also to generating value for that purpose. I’ll reveal a bit more about this potential for prosperity over the next few days. But remember: there is no secret to releasing your strength. The trick is to identify it and allowing yourself to let it grow.</p>
