Are you a person who does everything yourself?

Do you allow others to help you with things?

Or maybe you feel that other people can’t do things as good as you can?

Man, I was a yes to all of these for many years of my life, only to realize that I was spinning my wheels, burning out and feeling fried. Can you relate?

Very simply, and I say this with love, STOP DOING EVERYTHING YOURSELF! For crying out loud, allow others to support you! I know you are great at many things, but there are many things you should not be doing and paying someone else to do for you.

Have you noticed that there are some things that you just flow with? Super simple, easy, no problem. And people in your life are blown away by how inherently good you are at them? This is your genius, your sweet spot, your flow. It is key to find it and stay in it as much as possible. We all make the mistake early on of trying to strengthen our weak spots. It’s one thing to try and overcome a fear or something necessary in our lives or business, it’s another to try and become excellent at something we will at best be good at.

A perfect example – I was terrified to speak in public for many years, but I got over it. I had a challenge of asking for my value, but got over it. I had no systems in my life, and was not a systems guy, but I learned it. Some things are necessary to learn and become at least competent in.

Action item: Write down a list of what you are currently doing and LOVE to do. Then write down a list of what you are currently doing that you can’t stand doing. Next, figure out a way to systematize each action. This may include hiring a Virtual Assistant or hiring someone else to guide you to put all the pieces in place. Either way, take some action on some, and stop taking action on others.

I look forward to hearing how much you have defined your genius and started to outsource things that are not in your flow. This is the key to take your life to a whole new level. I am here, by your side, rooting you on.. And doing the work myself.

Have you thought about living abroad?

I know for myself, all of these are a goal. I have planned and positioned myself and business so that I have the utmost of flexibility. Have you thought about doing the same?

As a matter of fact, I started my week off with watching the movie Celestine Prophecy to tap into the frequency of the jungle and what is true. This movie (and book) powerfully illustrates the coincidences and opportunities right in front of us, if we are simply conscious enough to see them and follow our intuition. They journey into the jungle to learn about the 9 insights. The insights outline how energy is everything and how as humans we forget to focus on giving energy to others and in fact take it from them. The infinite energy available is always there for us to tap in to. We simply forget…

I was attending an event last week with some of the biggest thought leaders on the planet, and sat next to someone who lives in Columbia part time. Now that is what I call a global business and lifestyle! I will be visiting him soon to explore it some more. Think Tim Ferris…

It’s pretty amazing how we can actually pull this off in today’s iPad age. Technology has become so simple that anyone can create a killer website, manage their own marketing campaigns and drive high quality traffic and clients to themselves while kicking their feet up on a white sand beach.

So…. Costa Rica calls to me often.  What calls to you? Are you listening or ignoring it out of fear. Tap in for a moment and really think about how you want to spend your days. This is crucial! Every passing day is another that we are to following our deepest hearts yearning and frankly, create a disconnect from our joy. I know you want to be more joyful, we all do!

Think about a time when you were so lit up that time stood still.

What were you doing? Who were you talking to? What made you so happy?

I know deep down you really want to do what your heart wants you to do. So often we chase things or do things out of fear or addictions. What is that your deepest heart is wanting you to do every day? No, I’m not talking about a means to an end, but what your heart tells you to do.

We all have a deeper purpose and calling. We all want to be in contribution somehow to something bigger than our material things or survival.

Maslow hinted to it with his Hierarchy of Needs but I think he missed the mark. Bold statement, I know.

Tony Robbins is much closer when talks about the 6 Basic Human Needs and how we live our lives through these drivers:

1. Certainty/Comfort
2. Variety
3. Significance
4. Connection/Love
5. Growth
6. Contribution

I think it is important to be conscious of what is driving us. This will help us be in alignment with our deeper selves. Notice how some of them are driven from the inside-out and others are more outside-in.

I believe that true happiness comes from a solid mixture of all of them, and also an inside-out world view and lifestyle. God knows I have certainly tried to fill my life up with things and crashed and burned.

No amount of external things will provide the happiness we truly desire. Yes, it will provide some short term bursts of bio-chemicals that make us feel better, but truly, do you think “things” will make you happy long term?

I certainly have bumped into some people along the way who have external success but are hooked on alcohol, sugar, adrenaline and more. They keep chasing the dragon, so to speak, and never find sustainable joy. Happiness is fleeting, but joy comes from living a life of love, care and contribution to your fellow man.

The infamous quote from Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) in the epic movie Wall Street “How much is enough, Gordon? When does it all end, huh? How many yachts can you water-ski behind? How much is enough, huh?”

I firmly believe that we must find our calling and spend a good portion of our time contributing to others awakening. Serving people open to their best selves. This is where true joy and happiness come from.

Think about this for a minute. Throughout your life, you have always migrated to a certain tribe. In grade school, you found your people. In high school, the same. And now that you are all grown up, well at least we think we grow up, you are doing the same.

You see, we all resonate with certain people. Some of us do our best to resonate with EVERYONE (god knows I have been guilty of this), and frankly, that can be tiring and sometimes not overly healthy.

In case you were wondering, yes, that is a picture of me in front of my grade school in Pleasanton, CA. Notice the BMW shirt LOL..

I say all of this to first of all project (and boy do we do that, thinking we are right or have all the answers) and say that you have your tribe. They are out there. Maybe you have found them already, or maybe you are seeking them. Trust me, they are seeking you just the same..

These are the people with whom you resonate with. The ones you have a deep connection with and can talk for hours about things that fill you up and recharge you.

No, I’m not talking about gossiping or sharing the latest pop culture or political talking points, I’m talking about something much deeper. Your heart and soul connect on a level with ease and grace. You leave the conversation amazed with the fact that you just connected with this kindred spirit who values what you do. It is deep and meaningful.

When you find these people, you know. You know who they are.

Now, imagine yourself talking to them all day long. Yes, you CAN talk to them all day long.

Every conversation is about moving a mission or purpose forward. Maybe it is your vision or theirs, either way, synergy is created and massive opportunity comes from it. Defining who these people are will make all the difference in the world, and you will be in the conversation you enjoy all day long. As we get older, our conversations are the richest things in our lives.

Working with your people you enjoy and love as a coach or consultant is beyond rewarding. Seeing people’s lives open, their heart’s open, and watching them create the lifestyle business they desire, potentially making 3x what they were before or ever thought possible is freakin awesome! I have been doing it for years, and let me tell you, it fills me up!

When you are ready to live a life on your terms, serving and talking to the people you love talking to on a daily basis, I am here to illuminate the path. It’s really quite simple when you have someone showing you the way.

Who do you spend most of your time with? Are they really rooting for you?

Think about a time when you shared something with someone close to you. Did you feel supported and loved? Did you feel more excited about your dream or less?

You see, some of the people in our lives do not genuinely have our best interest in heart. They may be daisy cutters, secretly wishing for you not to grow or become better because it shines the light of awareness on them. It illuminates where they are not fully committing in their lives.

As we step into our power and find our true voice, our deepest voice, we could potentially outshine people from our past.

What I ask of you more deeply is to uncover your commitment to being your greatest self, with your voice being heard. I know you can transform at least one person’s life by finding your voice and sharing it.

It is beyond important to surround yourself with people who support you to your greatness and believe in you. It is difficult to see the picture when you are in the frame. Allow others to offer their ideas, feedback and insights. But only allow the people who truly have your best interest at heart in… Be mindful of filtering out the noise.

Get rid of the SMALL talk and get into BIG talk.

This quote is so darn applicable when we are stepping into our BIG talk and realization of our potential. Theodore Roosevelt said:

“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”

Give yourself permission to step up and follow your dreams! Who cares if others are trying to cut your daisies. The world is beckoning you to follow your heart and go for it.

I love it when I see my clients’ hearts and minds pop wide open when they step into their voice and value. and it fills me up to see friends winning in their lives!

Be a winner in your own life and applaud others who are winning in theirs! For you are a mirror – be a good mirror.

Do you really care? Have you gotten to a place of total resignation and have a sense that you have given up or are close to? Maybe you feel like you have lost your way…

Trust me, we have all been there. I certainly have and know many people who are right there with you. In these times of uncertainty, it is important to remember what we care about and why we are doing what we do.

The clearer we can get about what we REALLY care about, the better.

When was the last time you:

• Sat down and outlined exactly what you want in your life?
• Had a deep conversation with someone, spilling the beans of where you really are in your life?
• Took an inventory of the people in your life to see if they really care for your highest and best?
• Asked yourself the tough questions that will provide you with the truth?
• Asked others the tough questions that will provide you with the truth?

I know you care. I know you want to have all that you dreamed you could have. I know that you have an innate genius that is all yours that the world would benefit greatly from.

When we boldly step into our divinity, and build our life and business around it, the world supports us in ways we never thought possible.

One of my favorite quotes by William H. Murray, the Scottish mountaineer and writer,  pertaining to care and commitment:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Do you find yourself doubting? Do you question your very existence and experience confusion, even in moments when you should be happy and feel love? Guess what, you are not alone. Many people on the planet feel this same sense of emptiness and low level pain and disconnection.

Pain… If we have the courage to stand in it and experience it, instead of running from it and self-medicating, we can find the answers to our true happiness. As Bob Proctor says “people hit their terror barrier and go right back into bondage.” I beg you to not stay prisoner of your own creation for years to come.

How do I know this to be true? I was there myself. The way I was finally able to move beyond my pain was to face it head on and stand in the fire.

You know deep down you have the answers to your happiness. Here’s the thing, as soon as you make the decision to follow your heart, your life will open up and provide you with everything you desire.

Often times we need someone else’s perspective and swift kick to move us towards our goals. Accountability helps to keep us on track – embrace it!

The fire may be hot, but fire also creates great things. Think about how good a vacation feels somewhere warm in your shorts and flip flops. Now go and create that in your life instead of running somewhere warm to feel happy. The world is waiting for you to embrace and love why you are here.

A guide will support you to your greatness, and I would be honored to be that guide for you. When you are ready to explore yourself and your mission, I am here for you.

You are here to create something in your life and be a contribution to humanity. We all have a purpose and a deep desire to serve our fellow man. What is it about yourself that you feel is unique and emerging for the betterment of all? Think about it. That little voice that you hear sometimes, speaking to you ever so softly, or maybe very loudly. That still small voice. Is it you? Is it God? Who is it?

Think of a time in your life when you had a keen sense of self awareness. Maybe you were outdoors or watching your children play. During this time of presence and joy, you felt like there was something more. That something more is a deeper sense of service. I want you to tap into this feeling again. Really feel it, just be with it. Breathe in this sense of knowing and be with it. What do you see? What do you feel? What can you sense? This awareness is your essence. It is who you really are.

When we know who we really are, we can impact others at a much higher level. People will simply resonate more with you and engage more deeply. Everything you want is here, in this presence.

I know you are ready to step up and be a bigger contribution or else you would not be reading this post or following me.  I want you to ask yourself, what am I ready to surrender to so that I can live my ultimate life? How courageous will I be to tap into my higher self and serve at the level I know I can?
